Haiti- Tues PM

I was able to talk to Joel tonight. :)  He finally called my cell after I kept trying to call the satellite phone to no avail (if you guys can pray for the communication efforts, I know the team would be very grateful as they are having trouble getting connected with the right people to evacuate some of their patients)...

The surgical supplies from Medline and Methodist hospital came in this afternoon. They were flown in by helicopter. The OR was again able to perform 10-12 surgeries on patients today, mostly amputation revisions and closures, as well as taking care of a lot of open wounds. The water was shut off for a brief period this morning, but came back on in the afternoon. They are all still healthy and doing well, and have not felt any tremors or other aftershocks while they have been in Bonne Fin.

The two patients spoken about previously (the 4 year old girl and the woman with the head injury) are still here, and the team is hopeful that their connections will get these patients and possibly others evacuated soon. They are still having difficulties getting in touch with the State Dept.

Specific Request:

The team and hospital are needing  TMAT G-RA x-ray film. They said without this, they are not able to do much with x-rays.

Prayer Requests:
- that the administration in Bonne Fin will continue to get the resources they need to stay open and be able to treat patients.
- one of the patients, Linda Leone, has an amputation that is above the left knee. She is septic.
- several patients have severe muscle/skin loss and are in need of muscle flap surgery... pray that a plastic surgeon will be provided.

Joel wanted me to let you all know how so very grateful and appreciative both he and the rest of the team are for your continued support and prayers. Although they are doing well, he said it is no vacation... but to always remember that to God be the glory!
