Visitors, part 2

A week after my mom left, my Aunt Janice (my dad's sister) was gracious enough to fly down to be with us a few days! It was such a short visit, but still a huge blessing, and the boys loved baking Christmas cookies with her... they made 5 different kinds in only a couple of days (cutouts, chocolate sandwiches, snowmen, Amish sugar and strawberry thumbprints with creamcheese drizzle)! And we all enjoyed the goodies she brought down... alphabet pretzels, hot cocoa, homemade chocolates and pear sauce from Aunt Joan, smoked cheeses and Amish licorice for Mommy, homemade strawberry jam and sausage and trail bologna you can only get in good ole country Ohio... yum!

 "look at this mess!"

Snowman cookies... Uncle Glen and Aunt Joan's favorite.

It actually took much convincing before he would lick the beater...

 Enjoying lunch day!

Mommy's nostalgic favorite... and Aunt Janice made sure they were baked perfectly!

Although he loved using the cookie cutters, he actually only wanted to decorate one cookie, which he promptly ate.

He was the proudest of this one... and I'm thankful he ate it, because you wouldn't be able to taste the cookie or yummy frosting with all that sugar on top!

Chocolate sandwich cookies. We made some with creamcheese filling, and some with mint marshmallow filling... those were so yummy!

The boys also made worms, and got to decorate them afterwards...

On Saturday morning, while Mommy made waffles, Liam and Aiden helped Aunt Janice make a fruit bowl and serve it to Daddy in bed!

Aunt Janice on the last day asked if there was anything else the boys wanted to do (thinking any other cookies they wanted to make)... they must've been all cookie-d out because they got all excited and said, let's build a fort! Liam wanted it similar to one that he had made with Uncle Glen a couple of years ago, and Aunt Janice didn't disappoint!
